It's hard to trust, when all you've known is pain.
Not just any pain but that pain that cripples you and renders you immobile. The one you just can't for the life of you explain why it is happening. 
When you're hurt... that wound will heal.
Now what can you do, when its constantly reopened?
When it comes from who is supposed to protect you?
How can a wound so deep heal?
Learn to fight, if you want to survive... I heard once...
Learn to hold your tongue, if you want to live... I heard second...
Hate can be a relief but it can also rot your soul... I heard third...
Learning to forgive is for the intelligent... So, why is it so tricky to accomplish?
I learned the hard way to fight and to look out for myself. Now that will never crumble, I'll make sure of that!
